Kingston Orpheus Choir was founded in 1944 and we recently celebrated our 70th birthday. We are a mixed voice choir of around 50 singers. Our current Musical Director is David Condry.
We operate on a 3-term basis (Spring, Summer, and Winter) and normally give three Saturday evening concerts per year (at the end of every term: usually in March/April, July, and December). Our preferred concert venue is St Andrew’s Church, Maple Road, Surbiton, KT6 4DT.
Normally, during term time, we rehearse in St John’s Church, Spring Grove, Kingston, on Wednesdays from 8.00pm to 10.00pm with a short social break for tea/coffee. On average our terms are 13 weeks long. If you would like to join us, please send us your email address and we’ll send you a link to our next rehearsal.
Our repertoire covers a wide range of music, from Bach and Handel to the present day, including new works by contemporary composers.
